Art without a hall
A cooperation project for the blind and visually impaired
23. August 2024 / 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Almut Rix, Dr Michaela Wilk and Andrea Grotzke
The Kunsthalle zu Kiel has to close its doors to visitors due to several years of refurbishment. We therefore need to find new venues and formats for our various target groups. Until the Kunsthalle can offer its own art exhibitions at other locations in Kiel, we will cooperate with our neighbouring museums and collections (Medical History Museum/Antique Collection).
The Botanical Garden Kiel is part of the Botanical Institute of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and looks back on a 350-year history. At its fifth location, where it has been open to the public since 1985, it is home to around 14,000 plant species for research and teaching.
The curator of the botanical garden, Dr Martin Nickol, will give a sensory-focused guided tour in the open air (in the greenhouse in bad weather).
Admission and participation are free of charge. Registration is required. (10-15 places)
Please note:
Due to the closure of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel, the programme will take place in the Botanical Garden.
