For many years, the Schleswig-Holstein Art Association has offered its members trips to international art events. The trips to art are often related to works from the collections of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel or current exhibitions.

The art trip

This diverse island nation is famous for its scenic beauty and rich art and culture. Japan's contemporary architecture and design are also in demand internationally.
The round trip led from Tokyo via Kyoto to Naoshima and was dedicated to the culture of the country, where tradition and modernity coexist. The Fuji-san as well as the gardens also had their fixed place in the journey.
Documenta fifteen and Derneburg Castle

The unusual concept of this so important art exhibition, which takes place every five years in Kassel and each time integrates new places in the city space, makes curious and questions the traditional concept of art!
The way back leads via Derneburg Castle with its magnificent collection of contemporary art.

Eutin Castle

By coach we went to Eutin for a detailed tour of Eutin Castle and the castle garden, which is considered the most important garden monument of the Enlightenment period in Schleswig-Holstein. After lunch together, the program included a guided tour under expert guidance through the historic kitchen garden with its botanical features.
