Author Jakob Schwerdtfeger reads from his book

"I see something you don't, and that's art"

10. April 2024 / 07:30 PM - 09:00 PM

Jakob Schwerdtfeger is an art historian and stand-up comedian. Full of passion, he wanders through the history of art, discusses highlights and compiles his own favourite exhibitions. He knows the most exciting stories behind the works, tells incredible anecdotes from the museums and offers endless fun facts and party knowledge. In the end, there are more than ten reasons why art makes life better and why we should go to museums more often.

One of the most famous surrealists was inspired by French soft cheese for his flowing clocks, the creator of the 'Scream', Edvard Munch, spread bird shit on most of his works, Martin Kippenberger used a painting by Gerhard Richter as a table top in his own sculpture in the 1980s. Funny, passionate, instructive - a look behind the scenes that will delight art nerds and art philistines alike. (© dtv)
